The alarm went off at 4:35 am this morning. I snoozed it and tried to give myself gazillion of reasons why I should not leave the oh-so-warm-and-cozy bed. It’s cold and dark out there, it’s warm in here, I’m sleepy, I’m tired, I need to just chill out, who needs an exercise I don’t look that fat..c’mon….on..and on….until the next snooze came. Have you ever felt that way ? This morning was exactly that way. Apparently, the convincing didn’t work and I managed to actually drag myself out from the bed. Wow…impressive!
Yes, I have been hitting the gym at 5:15 or 5:30 am in the morning for the past 2 months. It’s crazy and I don’t know why I talked myself into this. I am so used to waking up in the middle of the night for the past 9 months now (ever since my gal was born pretty much). I have to admit that it isn’t that bad anymore because I only need to wake up once to breastfeed and that’s where I got the idea that I should go ahead and go exercise after I feed my baby. I bought into that idea and trying (emphasize on the TRYING) to keep it up. Some mornings are easy, some morning I couldn’t even move to snooze that clock.
It’s not like I’m trying to torture myself or anything. I just haven’t been exercising for so long and I can’t believe I’m going to say this…I missed it. Really ? ha! Yes, I really do. Well, truth to be told, I miss being able to fit in my pre-pregnancy jeans and tops and dresses. I can fit in them, however they are still quite snug and I just don’t like that feeling. So, as vain as I am (I believe as a woman I can’t help but to feel so), here I am with this early morning ritual that I somehow dreading it when I have to wake up but totally love it when I’m actually there at the gym, sweating it out and feel oh-so-good.
I can exercise at home too, but you know, it’s not the same (at least to me). I just can’t discipline myself enough to do that 5 days/week at home. Isn’t that funny? At your home comfort, anytime of the day when I have a chance. But, no, I choose to wake up and drive somewhere to do this. When winter comes, let’s see what will happen ;b
I found this photo that I took long time ago (almost forgotten that I had pony tail before) and I thought it was funny that I actually took this photo, but I did 🙂
