I had always enjoyed playing with kitchen set when I was young. Pretend play. I remember I set up a road-side stall from boxes and newspaper for my kitchen. My brother would rode his little bike, parked at the designated parking place that I set up and place an order of fried rice, stir-fry noodles, etc. When I thought about it, children are really very imaginative and always want to do what the adults do. How I wish at my time they had all these cool toys. Though I had so much fun with what I had, however, geez…look at what the choices our children have these days. Overwhelmingly crazy!!
I truly believe that children learns through playing. I know Fiorina does. We tried to get her educational and fun toys. As her 1st birthday coming up (I know..it’s hard to believe that my little baby is turning ONE soon), I ordered this Step2 Share and Prepare kitchen set. It’s not that she’s asking for a kitchen set (she doesn’t do that yet! lol), but I really wanted to get it for her. I thought this would be a very cool toy for her. She will most likely enjoy playing it for years to come.
This Step2 Share and Prepare kitchen set is really awesome. We don’t need to put a big hole on the wallet to get her this. It’s of good quality and the best part is, when the water is boiling, it makes sounds and the lights (fire) will light up. I thought “wow….somebody thought of this”. The kitchen looks real too. It has oven that you can open and bake something in there, a fridge that you can store your food, a sink, dials that actually turn to turn on/off the stove, and it comes with many accessories like fruits, veggies, plates, sauces, pepper grinder, pot and pan…really, they are cool! You normally have to buy these stuff separately I believe or probably they only include few accessories. And..oh…..there is a cordless phone too lol! Assembly wise was fairly easy. Could have been easier with two people (mainly for the muscles). But if I could set it up on my own with little help from my husband, I believe other mommies can too 🙂
I admit though that Fiorina is probably a bit young to be able to enjoy playing this kitchen set, well, she seems to enjoy it, but not from functional point-of-view, more of touching and mouthing stuff at this point 🙂 However, I believe, this is a good investment down the road. After all, I’m always busy at the kitchen and hey….why not get her busy at her little kitchen too ? lol! Well, I might spend quite a bit of time at her little kitchen too 😉
