Ingredients

well-marbled leg of lamb or loin cut

lean ground beef

large onion

tsp
salt

tsp
of freshly ground black pepper

tsp
all-spice powder
½
cup
chopped fresh parsley leaves
TO SERVE WITH:
Flat bread or split-hamburger buns
Fresh tomatoes
(sliced)
Lettuce
Plain yogurt
Ground sumac
Pickles
Cayenne pepper
Instructions
In a food processor, process the lamb and onion into a paste. Mix these along with the beef, salt, pepper, all-spice powder, and parsley
Divide the Kafta into 6 equal portions and roll each into a ball and then flatten into a patty about 1/2-inch thick
Prepare a gas or charcoal grill, or you can use a broiler. Grill or broil the patties, about 4-5 minutes on each side, turning them once
Sprinkle a bit of ground sumac on top of the grilled kafta. Serve with flat breads or hamburger buns along with the condiments
