If you have your grill our there this summer (A grill pan will work too, not the best, but will work), well, give this one a try. This delicious grilled pork salad is one of my favorite. The tender juicy pork paired with the fragrant lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and other seasonings, make this warm salad a keeper. Ingredients are easy to find too and your taste buds will be very well entertained 😉
GRILLED PORK SALAD
Ingredients
- 1 lb pork tenderloin
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 Tbsp of fish sauce
- 2 Tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 small red onion peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 stalk of lemon grass cut off the woody bottom and top and thinly sliced into rings and then finely chopped
- 2- inch fresh ginger grated
- 4 kaffir lime leaves cut into thin strips
- 2 fresh Thai chili seeded, stemmed, and cut into thin long strips
Sauce:
- 1 Tbsp of tamarind paste mix with 1 tsp of water to form a thick paste
- 1 Tbsp of fish sauce
- 2 Tbsp of brown sugar
- Juice of 2 limes
Garnish:
- Fresh cilantro leaves
Instructions
- Preheat your grill on medium heat. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, fish sauce, and honey together and stir until they are mixed well. Place the meat on the grill and brush with the honey mixture and grill for 15 minutes on each side or until the pork is cooked through and basting with the honey mixture as they cook. Remove from the grill and place on a chopping board and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing into thin strips
- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by mixing all the ingredients for sauce and stir until the sugar dissolves and set aside
- Place the sliced pork in a large salad bowl. Top with onion, lemon grass, ginger, kaffir lime leaves, and chili. Pour the sauce you made over the salad and toss to mix everything and garnish with fresh cilantro leaves
