Wonder what you can cook with kale besides roasting them ? Try this stir-fried kale and you might find yourselves liking it. It’s my daughter’s favorite since she was one year old. Stir-frying vegetables is always my favorite thing to do anyway 🙂
STIR-FRIED KALE (4 servings)
Ingredients
- 1 lb of kale washed
- 2 Tbsp of grape seeds oil or oil of your choice
- 3 cloves garlic peeled and finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp oyster sauce
- ¼ cup of chicken stock
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp of white sesame seeds
Instructions
- Chop the stems and leaves into bite size. Preheat a wok or skillet on high heat. When hot enough, add in the oil, swirl to cover the wok/skillet. Add in the garlic and saute for about 30 seconds. Add in the kale and oyster sauce and stir to mix everything. Pour in the chicken stock and cover. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, uncover. The kale will be somewhat soft, but still a bit crunchy. Drizzle in the sesame oil. Have a taste and season with a bit more salt if needed. Turn off the heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and toss to mix. Serve immediately

This recipe is super interesting to me. I’ve never used oyster sauce before so I’m definitely going to have to try this!
Hi Isabel, Oyster sauce definitely is not as common yet, but it definitely a staple in most Asian kitchen 🙂 We use it a lot if stir-frying vegetables
They didn’t want to touch it 🙂 Especially as we had crepes waiting for us on the table and they were so tempting…
Honestly, I’ll eat the crepes first too, then if there’s room, might consider the kale ha..ha..
I made this at dinner today. A bit oily for my me but very tasty.
Did the kiddos like it ?
It’s a bummer that your kale chips didn’t turn out. Honestly making other root veggies chips hadn’t work out too well for me too. But for some reason, kale chips always turned out pretty good. Evan and Sophia called it “Fiorina’s chip” ha..ha.. Less room for error with stir-fry veggies I hope.
As my kale chips didn’t turn out too good (making veggie chip doesn’t seem to be my thing though it looks really easy), I’ll make sure to try this recipe.
