Basil omelette is one of my favorite omelettes. I’ve always love eggs to begin with and often finding ways to utilize this cheap and amazing protein source into our meals. Using basil to make omelette is simply delicious (well, if you enjoy basil that is). I love basil and this omelette couldn’t be easier to make.
BASIL OMELETTE
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of loosely packed fresh basil leaves
- Small pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper
- ½ tsp of fish sauce optional
- 1 Tbsp of water
- 1 Tbsp of grape seed oil
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, break in 2 eggs and add in 1 Tbsp of water , fish sauce (if using) pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper and beat vigorously with a fork. Add in the fresh basil leaves and stir everything to mix
- In a small to medium-size non-stick pan, add 1 Tbsp of grape seed oil or any oil you use and swirl around to coat the pan. Pour in the egg mixture and swirl around to make sure it covers the entire surface of the pan. Let it cook for about 30-45 seconds on medium heat. Use a rubber spatula to push one side to the middle and tilt the pan to let the runny part to flow down and cover the pan and let it cook until the bottom is settled and use the rubber spatula to flip it over and let it cook for 1 minute on the other side. Serve immediately
