I enjoy burgers, but hardly had I ever made any. I’m trying to recall now and I think I only made twice for the past five years ? I made the Double Tuna Burgers with Avocado and Cornlast year and 4 years ago. What? haha! oh well! as you can see, we have rice and noodles written all over our faces. I’m venturing out to different countries though. I always say that we need to keep our mind open and that includes trying out different food from different parts of the world.
To make a long story short, here it is..the Turkey Burgers recipe I got from Martha Stewart’s Living cookbook. Told ya… you gonna see quite a bit of her recipes here. It’s a great burger!!
TURKEY BURGERS (4 servings)
1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
1/4 red bell pepper, seeds and ribs removed, finely chopped
1/4 yellow bell pepper, seeds and ribs removed
1 medium shallot, inced
2 scallion, minced
1 tsp hot red-pepper sauce
2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp fresh thyme leaves or 1 tsp dried
1 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
4 Hamburger Buns
1/2 bunch watercress (about 1 cup)
COOKING METHOD:
1. Preheat a grill or a grill pan to medium high. Combine the turkey, red and yellow peppers, shallot, scallions, pepper sauce, Worcestershire, thyme, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; mix very lightly to combine
2. Form 4 patties, and place them on the hot grill; cook through, about 7 minutes per side
3. Serve on the buns, toasted if desired, topped with the watercress
I like Horseradish sauce, so I put a store-bought Horseradish sauce on top of it! yum! You can double stack the patties too if you want 😉
