Being a parent to two young children can be challenging some days. One of the kiddos has been waking up constantly at 5 am in the morning and wants his mommy (and how can I say no to that face!). The plan is to get him hopefully back to sleep with me, but sleeping is not on his agenda! He’s ready to play!! I have a long list of things to do throughout the day but instead, here I am trying to pry my eyes opened and staying on top of things for the rest of the day. It’s great to have something to look forward to in the morning though. Breakfast! Our family loves breakfast. It’s an important meal for our family. A good breakfast can really fuel me up and get me ready for the day.
One of our favorite warm breakfasts in the morning is this Quinoa Oats Porridge. It’s super easy and fast to make and if you haven’t tried Great Grains Coconut Almond Crunch cereal, you really should! I top the Quinoa Oats Porridge with this Great Grains Coconut Almond Crunch and it’s so good!

For baking/ kueh making: I highly encourage to weigh ingredients with a digital kitchen scale instead of using measuring cups as they are not very accurate especially when it comes to recipe that requires precision.GRAMS TO CUPS CONVERSION (UNSIFTED)
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup quinoa
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 2 1/2 cups unsweetened coconut milk
- 1/2 cup or more Great Grains Coconut Almond Crunch
- Fresh fruit of your choice
- Place the oats, quinoa, and cinnamon powder in a medium saucepan. Add the milk and bring to a gentle simmer and let it cook on low to medium heat for about 20 minutes. The mixture will thicken and gets creamy. Remove from the heat
- Portion the porridge into bowls. Top with Great Grains Coconut Almond Crunch, fresh fruit of your choice and serve
